“On Monday June 12, Pvt. Marshall Hartman passed away from a non-training incident at Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island. The cause of death is currently under investigation.
Hartman was assigned to Delta Company, 1st Recruit Training Battalion, and was in recruit training on Training Day 6 at the time of the incident.
Releasable information related to Pvt. Hartman in accordance with the Privacy Act of 1974 is as follows:
