“Seaman Recruit Maurice G. Everett, 17, of McKenzie, Tennessee was the son of Glenn Everett of Lansing, Michigan. Everett died doing disciplinary drills resulting that were the result of an infraction of discipline earlier in the day.
He was 8 weeks into the 9 week basic training and was scheduled to graduate the next week.
