Homicide: Martinez’s charred body was discovered in a dumpster behind a dinning hall on base. It was determined she’d been killed by a male soldier, also stationed there, whom she’d shared a taxi ride with a few nights before. The killer allegedly made romantic advances that Martinez rejected, leading him to kill her.
U.S. Army: Fort Dix, NJ, AIT trainee in the final weeks of culinary course, was due to be stationed at Ft Hood (Cavazos) TX upon completion of her training.
