“On September 19, 2016, Zachary entered active duty with the Marines and traveled to Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island, SC. Zachary became sick very early on, so he was delayed from training until the middle of October 2016. Unbeknownst to Zachary, he had not completely recovered from his original illness, and subsequently developed undiagnosed pneumonia. In spite of getting severely sick, Zachary told others he would be okay, and muddled through the extreme training. On the night of November 4, 2016, Zachary lay down in his bunk and died at just 18 years old.” – Obit
