DIES IN EXPLOSION
The War department announced Friday that Pfc. Warren Frank Crooker, 24, of Gooding, was killed in a mine explosion at Fort Jackson, S. C., on April 4. The announcement was received by his widow, Rosie Mencl Crooker, staying with her parents at Wendell. The private was born in Detroit but moved to Gooding with his family at an early age. Services will be held at a later date in Gooding with Thompson’s in charge. Besides his widow, survivors include his parents, Mr.and Mrs. Warner D. Crooker of Gooding; two children , Caroline Rose, 18 months old, and Warren, Jr., seven weeks old, a brother Corp. Robert Crooker, Marine, now in a convalecent hospital at Farragut, and a sister, Mrs. Doris Vaughn of Gooding.” – Find A Grave
